Dandvat Pranam to JejeShree & Bhagvad Smaran to all Vaishnav

For Hindu children who grow up in India, their religion is all around them: it resounds from the bells of their neighborhood temples, in the stories told by grandparents & in the countless rituals, ceremonies & colorful festivals which are a part of daily life. What about Hindu children born in other fast-moving countries outside India? Outside India, the teachings of a Guru have flourished. Gurus have been instrumental in nurturing the faith of Hindus, with guidance on how the faith is to be practiced in foreign lands. Nairobi Vaishnavs are Blessed to have “Shree Dwarkeshlalji Mahodayshree” as our Guru. Following the opening of Shree Vallabhdham ~ Nairobi Haveli in 2002, Shree Dwarkeshlalji (Kadi-Ahm.) inaugurated the Balpushti Pathshala for children between the age of 4 to 13 years, with the objective to ignite, foster, uplift & preserve ancient Hindu Dharma, Culture, Values & the knowledge of Vaishnav Dharam amongst our children, into their everyday life.

“Balpushti” is a place for children to come, learn & practice our Hindu culture & heritage of Vaishnav Dharam, with the aim to provide a fun, social & educational environment that enables children to acquire a healthy understanding, & a pride for their ancient Hindu religion, such that children are inspired to apply them into their daily life, exchange thoughts, develop a confident self-identity & pride in our cultural identity, with a sense of belonging to the community. Educational classes are conducted regulary from 4.30 to 6.00 pm every Saturday, at the Haveli, to develop the interest of children in the Haveli & increase the new generation’s feelings towards our own religion from the very early days of their life.

Classes are organised to teach children our basic principles of our religion & “paaths” such as Shree Manglacharan & Shree Yamunastakam, “about our Haveli”, the Daily Darshan & Timings, Bramhmasambadh Mantra, Shree Mahaprabhuji & Baithakji’s, Shree Yamunaji & Shree Girirajji & parikrama, & Daily routine as a Vaishnav. Children are enlightened about Pushtimarg by way of kirtans & vaartas, Shree Krishna’s childhood stories & Shree 84 & 252
Vaishnav’s Vaarta. The children also repeat the stories in their own words to the class. To attract growing children to the marg by means of their interests, Balpushti Pathshala also undertakes practical lessons in making malaji’s, rakhee’s, pavitra’s, torans for the Haveli, aarti decorations, Diyas, dandias, rangolis, diwali cards, just to name a few. All Shreenathji’s yearly Utsavs are celebrated with the guidance of the teacher so as to develop their knowledge & interest in all Haveli utsavs & activities.

Children are now understanding, “Seva” and as a result some very young children have taken up Seva of Thakorji into their daily life at home, with the Blessings of Shree Dwarkeshlalji & also have “Bhavna” to perform Seva in the Haveli. Many other curricular activities such as gardening, picnics & charity activities are conducted. Balpushti Pathshala also actively participates during all our Haveli Annual Patotsav Functions & other Hindu Religious Functions.

At the end of every class, fun-educational games are played & children are given prasads & presents. We also have many outdoor trips & have had great fun filled Diwali & New Years Parties at various children’s venues. We are Blessed & Graced with the presence of Shree Dwarkeshlalji several times & many Balpushti students receive Brahma Sambandh from Jejeshree.

BALPUSHTI_PATHSHALA2

We are pleased to announce that we have a steady attendance of children throughout the years & have many new & interested children joining our Balpushti Pathshala every week.

The minds of children under the age of 10 are like a sponge, & they absorb everything you give them; the older they get, the outside influence will start weighing more into their lives. Our future rests on the shoulders of our children & we believe these shoulders must be strong & bright for our future to be bright with our children on the right path. The PVS-Balpushti Pathshala welcomes & encourages more parents to present their Children with the “Greatest Gift for their Future” by enrolling their children for “Balpushti”.
